Achillea's Leap

2024 | Acrylic and Ink on Board | 20" x 26"

What does it feel like to bounce around on pillow-y king size flower beds? During a summer evening walk, I came upon a neighbor’s flowering Achilleas, featuring these yellow plate-like flat flowers the size of your palm but only 1⁄4” thick. Their forms, simultaneously geometric and organic, and the way they layered on top of one another created this image, me %95 shrunk in size and jumping from one flower to the other.
